Design Institute Road and Bridge Design Center "Magistral" (city of Voronezh) a pavement design was developed using 2 layers of woven geotextile materials:
Reinforcement of the bearing base made of crushed stone with high-strength woven geotextile "Geospan TN-80" leads to the possibility of reducing the thickness of the bearing base by increasing its modulus of elasticity, which ensures higher performance and operational reliability of the road structure (additional service life). Pavement calculations for the analysis of various options with reinforcing layers were made using the CREDO RADON program. Accounting for the effect of Geospan TN woven geotextile materials in the calculation of pavement according to the frost resistance criterion was agreed by the specialists of the FSUE ROSDOR NII research institute. According to the expert opinion, in subgrade structures with reinforced layers, the frost resistance of pavement is ensured at increased values of frost heaving of soils compared to the norms.
This effect is the result of the action of the reactive pressure of high-strength geotextile material on the soil at certain points of the subgrade, where heaving exceeds the average value for the site, which leads to a decrease in uneven heaving. Based on the results of the calculation, the thickness of the sandy drainage and frost-protective layer of the pavement base was corrected (reduced).

The technical and economic efficiency of the developed design is confirmed by pavement calculations and proven experience in the use of similar structures on heaving intervals during the overhaul of the road network in the Kaluga region for the period from 2010 to 2013.
Construction work on this project was carried out by OJSC SU-920 (part of the structure of OJSC KhMDS and JSC DSK Avtoban) in 2014. The total volume of supplied Geospan TN geotextiles amounted to more than 160,000 m².
